Apple “MacBook Touch” MultiTouch Tablet Concept “iPad”
***Updated with Product Specs*** This is a video I put together for a Product Management class in the MBA program at Georgia State University. The video is meant to illustrate the macbook Touch concept – a tablet computer that uses Apple’s multi-touch technology. For the class project we were required to come up with a new product concept and develop the idea using Product Development and Management techniques learned in class. The video was put together using imovie ’08 and is my first attempt at making a video. Several of the clips were taken from Apple videos on the internet, and some were recorded by me in order to simulate using multi-touch on a tablet computer. The concept mockup photos were done with Microsoft Paint. The video of Mute Math playing at the end is from their Flesh and Bones Electric Fun DVD. There are a few mistakes in the video and some things I would have liked to do differently had I had the time, but I was working on a short schedule trying to put the rest of the project together. Overall I think the video came out well and made a nice ending to the final presentation in class. Music: “Reset” by Mute Math Video created by John Fudge ****Update**** Some have messaged me and asked what the final specifications looked like for the project. Here are some of the potential specifications that were settled on using a combination of Conjoint Analysis, visual product mock-ups, an 8 person Focus Group, and specs of some of Apple’s current products (Keep in mind these Specs were established in March 2008). You should design products for Apple. They could’ve used your help on the iPad.
They should’ve called it the iFail.

I’m not sure if this has been addressed before, but is the iPad pressure sensitive? Or will it just be worth it to get a Cintiq instead? :/

Well that’s two comments I’ve read about this breaking with one drop! What’s that about??? Most electronics break if dropped? Take an average laptop and drop it, it would most probably break!! I’m not fussed about which is better, it personal choice but if you have to slate a product at least have a decent point to make!!!

Regardless its gonna be a great product i just dont like the way apple does business, They use slanderous adverts against windows on errors i have never experienced in my life.8 years ago Steve jobs said Bill Gates was crazy for using an Tablet and now look at 1 today jobs will more than likely showcase an apple debut of one. Dont Get me wrong they do make great PC’s.Mac, Linux and W are all great products and each of them have their own perks there is no “better” system its whats best for you

And hello to your viral-infected OS X.. the only reason Apple doesn’t have viruses that often is because its such a rare system, if it becomes more popular you’ll have a bunch of viruses that don’t affect windows but will hit macs..
