Fair points. I would just say that netbooks don’t require a wireless contract, whereas the iPhone costs around $3,799 over a two-year period. I’m not sure what it runs over in the UK. Smartphones are great, but they’re not exactly the most necessary purchase in this dire economy.

@kd4nuh82 ok fair point, but i could either have an iphone, or any phone that can do all that or a netbook, its shown that ARM processors in the iphone at 500MHz can equal and in some cases beat atom 1.6ghz processors. also parents, family hardly going to use a tiny netbook to do the basic things. netbooks by stats are falling because of CULV based laptops, there almost same form factor, better build and faster
about 2 years ago
Once again, I disagree. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I also have an HP Mini 110 with an 1.6GHz Atom and 2GB of DDR2. I can do the same amount of web surfing on both. Sure, I can’t run Crysis on the netbook but who cares? Do you think your Mother or Grandmother care about anything other than browsing and checking e-mail? I bet you that 95% of what most people do is web surfing, checking e-mail, and social networking. Netbooks are great and here to stay.

Ive owned one and used one, there too weak for even general use, only because of crap atom processors, get rid od those and stick in intel CULV processors and i will change my view on netbooks, netbooks will die soon because of cheap CULV laptops.

Netbooks are not useless. Only people who don’t own netbooks and Apple fanboys think that way. Would you rather have your $1,200 MacBook Pro nicked or a $299 netbook? Can you open a full-sized laptop on an airplane? Which is easier to stick in a backpack and take to a class?

I jerked (no homo) when you said ‘drop your apple tablet’, it would dent and shatter into a million peices. It’s a fact the price point on this is going to be pretty high.
yep, i agree 100% its very unlike apple, to sell a product thats not durable, like you said the ipod touch and iphone are surprisingly durable, not what i thought when i first saw it lol

regarding the build quality of the up coming tablet from apple i personally don’t think that theres gonna be any issues with it because from my experience it takes a lot of determination to break an apple product, i’ve dropped my touch down 2 flights of stairs (hardwood) and yet my touch was only scratched up ( mind you there was no case). This tablet will be one of apples most strongly build items HANDS DOWN.

all the points i say in the video are not to be joined together, if that was the case then yes i understand your comment, because some points are conflicting. all that i am doing, is asking questions and giving views, and i am treating each point separately, its apples job to try and relate each point with conflict and provide a solution that satisfies all the questions, hope i made some sense !

A lot of problems with the video. DRBUK, you try to be in-depth, but sometimes, you are trying to find points that make no sense. here’s the thing. Lets assume the tablet is as thick as the iPhone. then putting the bigger screen will increase costs. But now you have more space for all the other components. Where they could save a lot of money.
Also there’s a lot more space for a much bigger battery. Also, as this device is not a phone, it’ll have a better battery life anyway.

very good video…..
you always go so deep into the product and think about every little thing.

lol ye i said the same thing on twitter, im getting sick of the rumours, i either want to see it or not hence why i havent made videos in the last 2 weeks where rumours have been GOING MENTAL ! i thought..ahh forget it, ill just wait and see…on twitter i said ill crack up laughing if there is no tablet, or even no event…thats code for ill start crying, they smashed my dreams…LOL

Everyone has been stressing about this tablet for years now, for as long as I’ve been watching YouTube tech videos…
If Apple never comes out with a tablet I will laugh my ass off.
Good video though

Whats wrong with having a cheaper tablet??? whats wrong with having a stronger device??If you want to settle for less thats your deal. what your arguing is……………….well IDK nothing to be honest. DRBUK was making a perfectly legit point.COME ON. seriously!!!!!

I agree with DRBUK 100%. Laptops are NOT for handwriting they are for typing. I would use this for taking notes and drawing/doodling. whats the big deal with having handwriting features? it’s just going to enhance the user experience.

For all this respect you give Apple, I would only hope that you have shares in the company

@AppleSoldier i know what you mean, this device from the rumours sounds like a home/personal computing device, a small version of a computer, a toned down version, its just id love to take this device, sit in my lectures at university and take notes, then saved them to the notes app, and synch them back…u have to admit that sounds great ! especially if apple try to target this to the education sector, which they have a BIG SHARE already for laptops aka macbook !
