Motorola Droid Android 2.1 Custom ROM and New Look

YouTube! Hey guys, Just like I stated this video is just a show off of what I got going down on my phone. I have a custom ROM named Smoked Glass v2.5. This rom includes many features of the 2.1 android software that should be accessible soon. Some of the features admit a fresh gallery, multi-touch browser, fresh widgets, fresh launcher, dwell wallpaper, fresh music app, etc. Now don’t get ahead of yourselves, this is a CUSTOM rom which means this is a gathering of aggregate apps and widgets that MIGHT be admitted or rumoured to be in the 2.1 software that should be striking are phones soon. Download Link! www.megaupload.com ________________________________________ Instructions for install 1. Make sure you have the latest version of BitPim 2. Manually set your enV Touch to the Voyager profile in BitPim 3. Browse to this location in the file system: /flash/ui/menu/ 4. In there, there will be a file named “topSclassType1Sub.swf”* 5. Right click on the file name and click “Overwrite” 6. Browse to one of the themes included in this archive with the same name 7. Click on the file and then click OK 8. It will then replace the file 9. Restart the phone right after and make sure you have the theme set to Blue Inspiration. 10. Voila! Now when you click on the menu icon you will see your new theme. *If you want you can also save a backup of the old theme just in case you want to switch back.

This is just a quick tutorial on how to install a custom kernel and overclock your Droid using the free app ‘ROM Manager’. Be sure to buy the premium version if you like the features! You must have root access to install custom kernels and overclock your Droid. Please make sure you download your kernels from the provider of your ROM, or you are certain it will work with the ROM you’re running. Otherwise, you may be stuck in a reboot cycle!
